August/September 2017 Fishing Report

Mahi are everywhere and close to shore!

November/December Drake Bay Fishing Report Greetings from beautiful Drake Bay, Costa Rica on the southern Pacific coast.  Due to the large schools of Mahi or Dorado and Yellow Fin Tuna just 15 miles off Corcovado National Park fishing has been excellent.  In addition to these pelagic fish being closer to shore than usual, as an added bonus there are still some Wahoo around Cano Island.  The chefs at the lodges and local restaurants in Drake Bay have been serving incredible dinners with fresh Ceviche, seared Tuna, Wahoo sashimi and grilled Mahi.  If you are a seafood lover, it doesn’t get any better than this.  Our clients are literally eating fish that are hours old instead of days. Fishing Report August/September/October

Greetings from the beautiful and uncrowded waters of Drake Bay, Cano Island and the Osa Peninsula.  We are pleased to announce that we were recently ranked the #1 tour in Drake Bay on Trip Advisor.  As we enter the final three months of the “Green Season” the fishing remains better than usual for this time of year.  There are plenty of wahoo and small to midsize tuna near shore as well as a few Mahi. Wahoo June/July 2018 Fishing Report – Bring on the Wahoo! Wahoo are here!  During this time of year the water is cooling which means more marine activity and lots of Wahoo close to the bay. These fish are a blast to catch as they swim at very fast speeds and destroy your bait with a violent strike. It’s not uncommon to have 4 fish on at the same time where the anglers will have to “dance” around each other to avoid getting tangled up. Wahoo, or Ono as they are called in Hawaii, are considered a delicacy either grilled or as sashimi.  The offshore bite remains good, not great like it was in March and April. Anglers are likely to catch…
