2016 Offshore World Championship comes to an end

The Reel Escape just completed its 4th straight year of competing in the Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica, this tournament is considered  the “Olympics of fishing “. Congratulations go to the winning team from St Lucia, teams from Brazil finished second and third. Over the course of 4 days and 66 teams competing there were 1495 Sailfish, 12 Blue Marlin , 1 Black Marlin and 1 Striped Marlin caught and most importantly RELEASED. Once again these numbers prove that Costa Rica remains the hottest spot in the world to catch record numbers of large billfish. The Reel Escape’s home port in Drake Bay is just 50 miles south of the tournament’s fishing grounds.
